If there was a headline to this front page article it would be, ' Heat wont go down without a fight ' . ... Back in the Burg, on the brink of elimation, and the Crush looking to sweep the series in their home field, ace Adam Martin took the mound for the Crush looking to have a quick first round outting. But it was anything but that , as the Heat caught fire in the first inning as lead off batter Andrew Benbow led off with a shot to center field, landing him a triple, soon to have Dan Benbow cash him. A few pass balls later and a sac fly , Dan was moved over to 2nd , only to have Josh Baer put a shot to left center to clear the bases. Jumping ahead 3-0 was a lead short lived , as Crush put a couple hits together to slam a 2 runs across the plate. It was a back and forth battle as the night went on , with a pinch hitter brought in in the bottem of the 7th to squeek a 2 run shot off the foul pole to tie things back up. It sent this game into extra innings, only to be short lived as the Heat took advantage of a line drive double from Nate Brown, then followed up by and error to let the speedy Scott Alexander on base. Back from his suspension, Matt Smith was looking to make an impact , and that he did, by earning his paycheck, cashing Nate Brown on a single to right field, giving the Heat the 1 run they needed. Bottem of the 9th came up and it was 4 up , and 3 down , and the Heat went on to close the door and take this series back to their barn Tuesday night 8:30pm.
