Norwich jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first with Tyler Zylstra and Bryan Phillips both coming in to scored on a Dylan Polfliet double. Polfliet came in to score on a Matt Taylor double. The Lakers answered with 2 of their own in the first with Don Nevill and Dustin V both hitting doubles and Tyler Hoshal hitting a single. Lakers scored 3 more in the 3rd on a Hoshal 3 run homerun. Norwich got one back in the 4th with Dan Buck hitting a solo homerun. In the 5th the Lakers scored 2 more one of capped by a Mike Vereecken homerun. Norwich down 7-4 going into the 7th rallied to tie the game with Derek Smart drawing a walk and Randy Zylstra hitting a single. Tribe and Polfliet then hitting doubles to take it to extra's. Norwich loaded the bases in the top of 8 with a 2 out rally but failed to cash. Tyler Hoshal hit a triple to lead off the bottom of 8 and scored on a Shawn Gear infield single to take a 2-0 series lead.
